For bible marking I have been doing a lot of research combing through a lot of blogs and reviews and this by far is the biggest discovery I have had been put up on. I had Someone email me after I checked out her review and to say the least the additional research I did was mind blowing! Here is a brief video on these pens:
YouTube Direkt Pretty Crazy right? Imagine the possibilities of color coding what you want making a mistake and then just simply erasing it! But What about your bible this here was a notebook… Well again the verdict is pretty clear that with your gentle touch you should be completely fine on this note. The Pilot FriXion Ball Erasable Gel Ink Pen has a good look and concept, but isn’t right for everyone. So how in the world can you have a pen with ink and erase it with not eraser fragments? Here goes:
The new “thermo-sensitive gel ink formula” is easily erased with the rubber tail cap providing friction. So this ink is especially designed to erase or be removed if you will with friction! But here is the draw back if you can call it that. The gel ink doesn’t come out as easy as gel should, more like a regular ball point, your standard for pens these days, and seems light or faded when you lay it down. As Pilot advertises though, there does not seem to be any damage to paperwork at all when it’s erased, and because it’s a rubber tip instead of a standard eraser, it doesn’t seem to deplete at all. This means you don’t have to worry about what happens when the eraser is gone because it won’t be gone!
Well the real test like and car err pen is the handle right. This pen has a dimpled rubber grip for you guessed it gripping, and comes in standard black, blue and red inks in fine point (.7 mm) only although you can now get this in a 6 pack here featuring colors of Black, Blue, Red, Pink, Purple, and Orange. Buyer Beware: you should only use this pen for things like bible marking as anything
legal or something to that effect can be altered easily. So for us bible students marking our bible has never been so easier in this department.
Now when it comes to bible marking or just bible study in general, marking key words is a fundamental component of inductive Bible study. One of the best things about this pen is the gel ink is almost like a color pencil; it has a flat finish instead of shiny like most gel inks. And it is erasable. This is its most outstanding quality. There is also minimal bleed through on the thin paper that most Bibles have; which is the most important thing you would be looking for on this review site. (Check here for another review.)
Ok so what’s the drawback right? Well here are a few, if you want to highlight the text you can’t because this is a pen and again as mentioned in another post you cannot highlight with a pen. The good news about this is that Pilot solves this problem by releasing the now Pilot Frixion Erasable Highlighter set in three different colors (Find it Here ), I have not tried those and cannot recommend them but Here is a review of them. Now here again is the problem you have to spend more money in order to all the things you want. Concept is great yes and indeed these are marvelous pens and I am sure the highlighters work fantastically but why spend more money when you can get all you want in one item right?
Enter the Pentel 8- Color Pencil for your bible marking needs. You get 8 colors in one bible marking pencil so no keeping track of separate bible marking pens here. It can be used as a highlighter or an under liner. What is extremely important here is the lines don’t bleed, smear, fade or transfer to the opposite page. Is it erasable? No, it’s not at least not the very good anyway the leads are super soft which means you can go nuts on highlighting to get the perfect amount of color instead of having to much color which is a great feature if you ask me.
So what is it going to be my friend are you going to get the erasable (a fine choice indeed) or the Pentel?
You can buy the Pilot Frixion Erasable Gel Pens here just click the link, you can buy the Pentel 8-Color Bible Marking Pencil here by clicking the link; if you get the pens don’t forget to buy the Pilot Frixion Erasable Highlighters here by clicking this link.
